    Delicious!

After getting sick a few years ago I have been dealing with inflammation in my body. I have been trying to cut out gluten and processed sugars to help and it definitely helps! Coconut sugar has been a great sugar substitute and you can do so much with it! It can be used in anything that you would normally use regular white sugar in.A lot of other reviewers got cheap quality looking sugar that was light colored and almost a powder when they bought this, but the one that I received was a nice dark caramel color with larger granuals. It has a delicious coconut flavor and has worked well in a lot of recipes. The container is HUGE (4lb 10oz) so it will last me for a long time! Great buy!

Great, Easy to Use, Coconut Palm Sugar

This is a lot of coconut palm sugar! It’s in a great container that seals well and is easy to pick up and handle. The opening is large enough to reach into, so scooping out the amount needed is easy. The product itself adds a very distinctive flavor to foods. As it should be, it’s a coarse powdery texture as opposed to crystals. The flavor of coconut palm sugar is very distinct. Sort of a deeply caramelized taste. It adds flavor as well as sweetness. And it’s lower glycemic than the usual white crystallized sugar.

Trying g to eat healthier. Great for making g cookies.

    Tasty

This palm sugar is very sweet and tasty. The flavor is like dark brown sugar , almost maple sugar. Delicious! It is a nice addition in my coffee. I am looking forward to substituting it for the brown sugar in my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. I like that it is low glycemic. It is a huge container of sugar. When it gets lower, I will probably divide it into smaller containers that I can keep air tight. I’m not sure if it would turn into a rock when exposed to air, but might as well be on the safe side.

    Great Sugar Sub for Diabetics

There is a light toasty smell to this sugar. Even though there a few lumps, they easy are loosened. There is a fine grain to the product, with make it easy to dissolve. The taste is slightly nutty with a hint of sweet. I’ve used it in my coffee and morning oatmeal and it adds that hint of nutty sweetness without changing the flavor profile of my drink or food. I’m a fan!

    Delicious!

This is absolutely delicious! It has a deep, almost caramel-y flavor to it. It definitely doesn’t have the same taste as regular white sugar, but tastes more toasted to me. Definitely more along the lines of brown sugar in my opinion. My husband likes to use it in place of brown sugar on his oatmeal. I’ve used it in several recipes and loved it. It did arrive with a few clumps in it, but they were easy to break up and it hasn’t been a big deal. The container is quite large and should last us for a while. I would definitely order this again!

Great in overnight oats! So yummy!

I love having overnight oats for breakfast or a snack, and this BetterBody Foods Organic Coconut Palm Sugar makes a yummy substitute for brown sugar. Brown sugar and cinnamon overnight oats are my favorite! Adding coconut palm sugar, in place of brown sugar, gives them just a little bit more of the caramel-like flavor. Before I eat my overnight oats, I add some chopped nuts and raisins to them. They are so yummy, and also good for you. Though I know it has the same nutrients and calories as regular sugar, I am mindful as to how much I use. Still, you just can’t beat the flavor! This is a wonderful tasting coconut palm sugar, and it comes in a nice large plastic reclosable and reusable container. I would absolutely recommend it!

    Love this stuff!

I first tried this, when I picked it up at Costco. They no longer carry it at my local Costco, so I was very happy to find it on Amazon! It’s low glycemic and the flavor is out of this world! Just love it!

always a good brand for me

Been awhile since I have seen Better Body coconut sugar anywhere, so I am pleased to see that they offer a big container online. Quality brand, quality taste. No problems at all. Ive been using coconut palm sugar for years, and this taste the same as my other batch. I love coconut sugar for everything, but it is a preference thing for sure. I think it works fine for use as white sugar or brown sugar. And while it imparts a deeper flavor, I dont think it is that far off from just plain sugar. Might be more noticeable in applications where the sweetener is the highlight of the flavoring (sweet drinks especially). While I dont use sweetener in my coffee, I have friends and family who request it when they come over for coffee. For me, I use it in thai dishes, and baking (as white sugar or brown sugar). I’ve been using it for so long that I forgot why I began using it, haha. I simply like the flavor, but the fact that it is better on blood sugar is likely what originally piqued my interest. Stuff seems to last forever too. I always keep mine in a glass jar, but even bagged it never goes weird. I love that this is packaged in a solid container with twist off lid; I prefer it over bags just for ease of use.I dont rate on price, but this large size is pricier than the smaller size (this is sold by BBF, and the other is sold by Amazon). Side by side I would rather find storage room for a couple of smaller containers than this big container. And then be able to save even more money? Huge difference in cost per ounce, especially with Sub & Save. Still, weird though, right?

Good on oatmeal and in coffee/tea

I got this as an alternative to brown sugar and I like the flavor it has. It’s a huge container of it and the best before date on mine was a year and five months out. I opened the container and the seal was in the lid. There was no outer seal or wrap. Had a few lumps at the top.

Similar in flavor and texture to brown sugar

This is the first time I have ever tried coconut palm sugar. But when I was young I ate a lot of brown sugar. To me this sugar is almost identical to brown sugar. It has the same texture and a similar rich flavor. I like it very much. As other reviewers have mentioned, it goes very well with oatmeal. I have also used it in my coffee and on my cereal. You can substitute this for regular sugar, but just keep in mind that you can still gain weight by eating too much. Supposedly it will raise your blood sugar more slowly than refined sugars. But that doesn’t mean it’s sugar free, just that it’s organic and slightly healthier for you. This large container is a great value. It should last my family for quite a while. I would definitely buy this sugar again and I recommend it to others who want to eliminate refined sugars from their diet.

    good palm sugar

I’ve used palm sugar before but as a big solid bar. I didn’t realize that I can get palm sugar in similar form as regular sugar, which makes it a lot more convenient to use. Since this sugar has a more caramelized taste and color, it’s a perfect substitute for brown sugar. I also use it to make ginger sugar syrup to eat with tofu or sweet bean soup. The container comes with over 4lbs of sugar so this will last for a while.

Great alternative to plain white granulated sugar!

My husband has been having blood sugar issues ever since recovering from the ‘rona virus, so we’ve been trying lots of healthier / low glycemic substitutes. Coconut palm sugar is one of his favorites, because it’s a 1:1 replacement for plain ol’ granulated sugar in terms of sweetness. It does have a little more flavor, deep and caramelly, closer to a brown sugar than plain white sugar. This is a BIG container – 4.7 pounds, so imagine nearly a 5-pound-bag of sugar, but in a convenient plastic tub instead! It screws shut nice and tight to keep the humidity out to keep the sugar from getting clumpy, and the plastic tub fits in my pantry better than a 5-pound-bag of refined sugar.

A must have in my kitchen

I LOVe baking with coconut sugar. It is much better for you thank white sugar because it has a lower glycemic index. It’s easy to work with and I always use a 1:1 ratio in all my baked goods. Because of its golden color, it will give baked goods a darker color. I wouldn’t use this to make a white colored cake, but most things I replace white sugar with this. This is the normal brand that I buy, this is just a larger size which is pretty convenient if you bake a lot. Tastes great too.

Great for syrups, drinks, baking, and more

This coconut sugar has a nice grassy, caramel-like flavor that works well in baking. I like to use this and regular white sugar 50/50 when making simple syrup for drinks, to add a nice depth of flavor. It makes for very interesting mai tais! Also good for candy making. The flavor is somewhat reminiscent of Demerara sugar, but it has an interesting slightly salty flavor, and richer caramel notes. I can taste a bit of coconut flavor in this sugar, but it’s nuanced and largely overpowered by the other, stronger notes.

    Very nice as a gift

Great price for the amount. My wife loves it.

    Coconut sugar

I decided to try this coconut sugar because it’s lower on the glycemic index than regular sugar. Personally, I’m low carb and prefer sweeteners made from sugar alcohols like allulose, but my family still likes sugar and I want to cook healthier for them, so I sub this in when it calls for sugar or brown sugar. It has a good flavor and seems to measure, cup for cup, like sugar in recipes. It’s great for baking or in cereal or coffee. We recommend it to anyone watching their sugar intake. 5 stars

  18. Jess

Nice, healthier alternative to refined sugar

This coconut palm sugar comes in a whopping 74oz size container. It’s quite a bit and with each serving size only being 2.5 tsp, this will last me a long time. Of course, certain recipes will require more than a serving size. It’s great for oatmeal or baking. I like to bake healthier versions of cookies which is always best with brown sugar, but this is a healthier alternative to the brown sugar. I think it’s a good value considering it’s huge size and I like that it’s organic, non-gmo and gluten-free.

    Tastes Great! 1:1 Sugar Ratio!

Alright. This is the biggest container of coconut sugar I have ever purchased and I’m not even upset about it. It is literally such great flavor and being a 1:1 ratio for sugar means you can use it in so many different ways. It’s insanely versatile and helps make your “sweet” a little bit healthier. The container is HUGE. You literally won’t run out of sugar, even if you are generous in your servings. Of course, everything in moderation, but coconut sugar is a bit healthier then white sugar or sugar made with stevia or other artificial sweeteners. As far as the container goes, you will definitely need to make sure you have space for it because 4.5 pounds is a LOT of sugar in a tall container. I don’t mind though because for $27, it’s a great price! I like to use this as a direct replacement for sugar. Think, coffee, oatmeal, breads and other baked goods. I would say I’ll purchase again, but I won’t have to get more because it will take me a while to finish this container.

    Great substitute for brown sugar

This sugar has worked really well in my homemade cookies. I haven’t tried substituting 100% of the brown sugar, but I have tried 1/2 brown and 1/2 coconut and it has come out great. It makes the baked goods taste a bit more caramel like, which at least for my oatmeal cookies was a good thing!

A Healthier Alternative To Refined Sugar

If you are looking for a healthy alternative to refined sugar but, like me, can’t stand all of that fake stuff, this might be a good choice for you. It’s still sugar and you can do pretty much most of what you would normally use sugar for, but you won’t get that sugar rush in your blood that is so unhealthy. It’s a fairly coarse brown colored sugar that works for most of your sugar needs. Of course, there still will be certain dishes, most likely certain baked items, that it won’t work with, but that’s only for the type that are heavily dependent on the particular texture of regular sugar. Most dishes, including most baked goods, will work great with this. This tastes pleasant and dissolves about as expected. Comes in a gigantic plastic bottle with a broad opening. Easy enough to scoop or pour out into smaller containers if you like having a canister or such at hand. Clean and fresh. Should please most palates. Even the kids will probably like this.

  22. Rabbit

    Great value and flavor

I wasn’t expecting such a large container of this sugar, it’s huge! I paid quite a bit for a smaller container at my local whole foods, so this seems like a steal. It tastes exactly like the one I bought previously, and is a great substitute for brown sugar, or even white sugar in certain preparations. Definitely recommend.

  23. sery

    Delicious

The flavor is phenomenal. It tastes like brown sugar, rich and intense plus no back taste like artificial sweeteners. Great product, I just wish it was cheaper…
